Last night my friend and I went for a run around 11 pm. While we were walking towards the starting point, two strangers stopped us:
“Hey ladies, would you like sunflowers?”
The request was so friendly and unexpected we didn’t know what to say but
“Aw we’d love to but we’re going for a run!”
They told us “We’ll put them right on this stoop and if they’re here when you get back, they’re yours”
When we came back after a nice cleansing run, they were still there.
And even though when I woke up this morning the sky was gray and muggy, I was greeted with a little bit of sunshine.
A random act of kindness turned to a sunny greeting.
Today is going to be a good day.
I’m so proud of my friend for pushing herself during her run! (She said she hadn’t gone running for more than a year.) We even did pilates and squats when we came back. We promised we’re going to be healthy together for the rest of the summer while everyone else is drinking and overeating 🙂 I’ve found running at night is much cooler and more peaceful. It’s like having NY all to yourself!
I hope whatever you’re trying to start- eating healthy, exercising, journaling, etc- you start today and keep it up! Excited to go on more night runs and see the results slowly but surely!!
Happy Tuesday,
