As overwhelming as the internet can be sometimes, it can be equally awesome.
Do you remember my “Why I’ll never be on a dating app again blogpost? Thanks to the internet, I had the awesome opportunity of getting connected to Kore Asian Media who brought this post to life in the form of a short film starring the talented Angie Kim and Topher Park.
Charles found me/my blogpost through the interwebs and reached out because he had never used a dating app in his life, but reading about it from someone like me, gave him insight/perspective on what it felt like using it (call it living vicariously through me). Honestly, I was surprised that out of all the blogposts it was this one that struck interest, but my perspective on dating apps really struck him and he thought, “if this can hit me, someone who’s never used an app, maybe it would hit home even more to people who have.” So we worked together to show what life is like from my eyes. Someone who has spent time testing dating apps only to find that it doesn’t work for them and moving on to focusing their energies on building a life, and meeting someone that way.
Here’s the video! Hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think!
It was my first time being so hands on in the recording, casting, editing of a short film…. and because of this I’m inspired to make more short films based off of the stories I have to share with you. What I love about this is that I get to work with talented and awesome people like Angie, Topher and Charles and get to tell a perspective that you might not have heard before.
How does that sound? Would you watch more short films inspired by my thoughts?
Thank you Charles /Kore Asian Media for the opportunity, and for Angie and Topher for being such awesome actors. I’m so honored to have been able to work with such talented people who have big things ahead of them.
