Lucky Rice Feast LA

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Lucky Rice LA Feast at Vibiana, in DTLA. Believe it or not, this is the 4th time I’ve attended! The first one was in NYC, the ones after that were after I moved to LA. It’s kind of crazy to think how much has changed everytime I go. One thing that hasn’t changed is my obsession with discovering and trying out new Asian/Asian inspired restaurants.

I didn’t take too many photos as I was too busy eating, but here’s a snapshot of what the event looked like if you’re considering going to the next one! Check out when the next event is in your city here.

Fluff Ice! (Taiwanese shaved ice) This was one of my favorite dessert options

The slow roasted pork and shrimp rice noodle roll from Asian Box

View from the VIP/American Express Lounge area which had a photobooth with the cutest props (think sushi roll and dumpling)

Bombay Sapphire was the drink of the night but I really enjoyed this Kikori Japanese Whiskey

That said, some restaurants I am looking forward to trying more of based on this Lucky Rice Feast:

Lao Tao Street Food, a new taiwanese restaurant that is set to open in Chinatown in the next month or two. I love Taiwanese food and am looking for more options closer to me!

Ban Oui– I didn’t take a photo of what I ate (Pork Belly, Foie Gras Torchon) but after just having a bite, I want to find them at Smorgasburg LA!

Little Sister– I guess I missed them here at the feast (they were serving pork and crab dumplings) but I’ve been for brunch before and it was delicious. Must go for lunch or dinner.

Sticky Rice-  Tried their kakuni taco at the feast which was OK, but I’ve passed by it so many times in Grand Central Market. Will have to try properly next time I’m there!

Any other recommendations of restaurants in LA?

Thank you @eatingwithminnie for inviting me to this year’s feast!
