I’m sure you’ve seen red carpet interviews sometime in your life before.
I know I did before I went on the red carpet myself to interview the honorees and guests at the Asian World Film Festival (my last blog post on that here). But trust me when I say it’s easier than it looks.
Not only do you have to think and ask engaging questions on the spot, know a little bit about them (if you can) prior to the event, bring an infectious and positive energy, make eye contact with these (beautiful and insanely talented) people and listen to what they’re saying even though there’s a million things happening around you…. you have to make sure that the mic is pointing at them (among other technical things).
That being said, here are the red carpet interviews I did for Asians on Film. Thank you for editing and asking me rock the mic!
For those who don’t know what Asians on Film is, it’s a non-profit that promotes Asian and Asian-American cinema via news, interviews and recognition. P.S. If you have a short film you’re working on you can submit it to the Asians on Film Festival!
I’m just glad I wasn’t actually on the camera…. but this was only the first of many to come.
So how did I do?
