Not Political, but personal

Not Political, but personal 3

I read/saw and heard about Michelle Obama’s speech in the media yesterday (above photo from my instagram) that I just took the short break I had to sit down and watch it for myself. I think I speak for both of us when i say: Wow.

What a speech. What a woman. What a mother.

She sets the standard for a new kind of power woman. A woman who not only  possesses eloquence in speech, power in thought and strength in values but also someone who has a strong vision for herself, the world she lives in and her family especially her daughters.

It was a speech that could resonate with anyone whether they live in the US, have a family, etc or not. It could strike chords in hearts of the young or old.

For a moment there I had forgotten it was Michelle Obama speaking. It didn’t matter anyway. It wasn’t political. It was personal.

To hear someone speak with such conviction, passion and vision despite everything that has happened and could happen was truly inspiring and to top it off, she did it with a radiant smile AND looking fabulous and fit. I strive to be that kind of power woman however difficult it may/will be.

I registered to vote today. If you haven’t done so, you should because if you’re reading this right now then you must value Change, Authenticity and Opportunity for growth like I do.

I’m looking forward to voting for the first time in November in one of the craziest/best cities in the world: New York and in what I’m sure will be one of the most important elections in my lifetime.

and don’t forget:  “Change is hard and change is slow and it never happens all at once” but keep moving forward. Cheers.
