Pay it forward

Spotted in Venice

It’s only month 3ish of my LA adventure but plenty has happened since I got here. So much in fact, that it’s hard to keep up blogging about it. I spend a lot of time living it, then processing it, then doing it again… that sometimes I just don’t have time to recount the past events until much later. I hope you bear with me while I do.

I’ve been learning and experiencing a lot. It’s both exciting and terrifying that there’s a whole world of possibility and unknown ahead. The one thing I do know is that I would not be where I am without the help others. Many of them are strangers. Many of them acquaintances. A few of them friends who have unexpectedly showed up time and time again.

Because these people have affected my life in some way- big or small- I promise I will be that person to someone else. I will always pay it forward.

Because you let me crash at your place when I had nowhere else, and hadn’t figured out my housing situation yet.

Because you took the time to drive me to the airport.

Because you took the time to show me around and tell me stories of the places you showed me.

Because you paid for my meal just to hear my story.

You connected me with someone who could help me, as a favor to a friend, without even knowing me!

Because you invited me to events and passed along anything I might be interested in.

Because you thought of me and asked me how I was doing.

Because you invited me to tag along and do something I otherwise wouldn’t do.

Because you spent the whole day with me at the cafe, making me more productive and keeping me accountable.

Because you invited me over and into your world, just to spend time.

Because you took the time to explore and chat.

Because you gave me a ride even though it wasn’t on your way back.

Because you did something when you didn’t have to, but because you wanted to.

Because you did, I will.

Pass it on. Be inspired to inspire.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey so far. Every conversation, every interaction, every meal (whether good or bad) has shaped where I am now.
