Highlights of my week: 11/15-11/21
It’s amazing how much can happen in one week! This week I started a new job, I met more new people, I saw/experienced new things… Here are some highlights. View from the new job/office in Beverly Hills. Rest assured it’s just the neighborhood I happen to work in this time, it doesn’t make me snobby or whatever stereotype it has attached with it 🙂
A day in San Jose
Daytime adventure in San Jose
I’m going to Los Angeles
I never thought I would be saying this, but I submitted my notice at work a few weeks ago, bought a flight shortly thereafter, am finishing up the work week and will be flying out to LA Saturday morning to explore opportunities out there.
When did it all change for you?
Sometimes it’s as if streetart is speaking to me. Take this photo for example. I took it while wandering the streets of the Arts District in Los Angeles (when I was there in April). I found it interesting at the time but I didn’t think too much of it until I came back to NY from LA. As I slowly phased out of vacation mode…. everything seemed to make sense….
A whole new world
Today, I had one of those “Ohmygosh that can do that? that looks like that? WOW MINDBLOWN” moments. I was at work emailing one of my counterparts in the London headquarters, when she casually asked how everything was going here in New York. At one point of the exchange I mentioned, “all is well, it’s getting chillier and to be honest, I’d rather be in London.” She said that…
Memorable moments at the Met
After dinner one night over a year ago (sometime in January), my friend and I walked until we found ourselves in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art where we saw an elegantly dressed crowd exiting the museum. At the time, I had no idea anything happened afterhours at the Met (I guess I imagined something like those “Night at the museum” movies) so I…
Only in New York.
So it’s evident my sister and I ate a lot during spring break BUT we also did explore and walk a lot. I think the best way to get to know a city is to get lost in it so that’s exactly what we did- we explored every nook and cranny of New York (something I usually do anyway). When you take the time to…
The Foods we ate in NY- adventure week continued
So after our little adventure to the Brooklyn Bridge, I took my sister to Chinatown (one of my favorite places in New York), to eat some of my favorite foods that she’s never tried before. It’s only natural that after some adventure she tries new foods too, don’t you think? Besides, getting bullied by the weather and walking quite a bit is EXHAUSTING- we were…
Voices of the World, as heard from Brooklyn Bridge
So spring break is over and my sister isn’t in New York anymore so really, I’m posting the adventures we had together to relive them. It’s already been more than a week since I posted last. Where does the time go?! One of the adventures I had planned for her was a trip to Brooklyn to eat some yummy pizza. I even had a whole…
Macaron Day NYC
When I found out that March 20 was Macaron day NYC, I got really excited for a moment but then realized that I probably would not be able to participate in its yummy goodness because of classes and meetings I had scheduled for the day. Still, I shared the link on Facebook so that even though I couldn’t take part, at least other people could….
