Crazy Rich Asians. Sounds absurd, right?
The moment I heard there was a book called Crazy Rich Asians in existence, I knew I had to read it. I had been reading a lot of non-fiction at the time and also happened to be looking for a guilty pleasure since Gossip Girl was no longer airing on tv. So, over a month ago, I went and bought it shortly after it hit bookshelves. Even though I finished reading the book awhile ago, it’s still on my mind.
Dare I say, Crazy Rich Asians is an Asian version of Gossip Girl if not better (and this is coming from a girl who was/is a devout fan of the Gossip Girl and A-List series ever since it came out when I was in middle school).
What I liked most about the book was not that it was an engaging read that managed to dust off some memories of encounters in my own life, but even more than that, it was a book that inspired me.
After finishing the book, a fire inside me reignited. It prompted me to really sit down and start writing the book I’ve been brainstorming in my mind for a while.
If it’s reviews, ratings and standing on the bestseller list doesn’t convince you, at least take my word for it. It’s a fabulous and fun read.
